Why do NGO’s maintain a neutrality and distance from govs? how do they do this?

A

Don’t take sides as that makes them a less likely target, don’t wear a uniform so can’t be easily identified and accused of being apart of conflict and don’t take funding from govs.

brings 2 sides together of a conflict, to negotiate thru war talks, gov who is neutral & respected by both sides brought in to support

A

A penalty for breaking rules, especially international settings as it sends a message of a gov’s stance and lack of condolence.

A

ordinary people suffer the consequences, which is unfair

A

as a deterent since they can be extreme consequences, such as financial sanctions, travel bans (removing an individual’s freedom)
