what is a solicitor?
they must pass law exams among other things resulting in them being able to provide LEGAL AID and REPRESENT their CLIENT IN COURT
what are barristers?
undergo long legal training, spend most of time in court representing clients. only lawyers qualified to speak in all types of court.
what is a probation officer?
work with offenders and write court reports, supervise them in the community.
what are some reason why people break the law?
-poverty

what is the law?
a system of rules that are created and enforced through social and governmental institutions to regulate behaviour
why do we have law?
- protect public
-settles disputes
-ensure people are treated fairly
-respond to new situations in society
