A

Respiration. The acquisition and carriage of oxygen to all of the cells in the body and the excretion of CO2 from all cells and expulsion into the environment.

What is the difference between internal and external respiration?

A

Internal respiration is the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between cells and the blood at the level of the capillaries. External respiration is the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide that occurs in the lungs.
