The east coast/west coast rivalry helped to propel these artists into international stardom and increase their record sales. Articles and stories about the rivalry resulted in increased sales for media publications. Media helped continue rivalry by exaggerating rumours and promoting the ‘thug life’. There have been numerous myths/stories surrounding Tupac’s death, hence legend still lives on in rap ad the hip hop culture.
