What is the reflex arc?
A
The structure of sensory, relay and motor neurons.

What does the sensory neuron do?
A
Detects sensations at receptors and travels across nerve along the myelinated axon and then it crosses the synapse.

What does the relay neuron do?
A
After synaptic transmission, new energy forms in the dendrites, this neuron is in the spine, and sends a signal to the CNS but also immediately sends a signal along it’s axon to the motor neuron.

What does the motor neuron do?
A
Detects the signal from the relay neuron via synaptic transmission and passes this signal along its own myelinated axon, to stim an effector. (muscles)
