What are the basic characteristics of Sz?
For a significant amount of time (6+ months) self care or living must be sub-standard and have some of the symptoms.
What are the positive symptoms of Sz?
- Hallucinations.
- Sensory Malfunction.
- Grossly disorganized.
- Poor Self Care.
- Catatonic behavior.
- Speech Poverty.
- Poorer at speech tasks.
- Avolition.
- Affective Flattening.
- Anhedonia.
- Hearing Voices.
- Delusions.
What are the negative symptoms of Sz?
1.Disorganised speech.
2. De-railment.
What is Sensory Malfunction?
you perceive the environment incorrectly.
What’s being grossly disorganized?
You can’t start or complete a task due to lack of focus or motivation.
What is speech poverty?
Slowed/blocked thoughts leading to lessened speech fluency and productivity.
What is Catatonic Behaviour?
Reduced response to immediate environment, rigid postures or aimless repeated motor activity.
What is Avolition?
A loss of interest/desire to do things - you just sit around doing nothing.
What is affective flattening?
Emotions are dulled - poorer emotive language, body language and tone are all dumbed down.
What is Anhedonia?
you no longer gain pleasure from doing things.
