The mole Flashcards
1
Q
Avogadro constant
A
one mole of substance = 6.02 x 10^23 number of particles
Particles could be atoms, molecules, ions and electrons
2
Q
Why is 6 at the front ?
A
atoms or molecules of any substance will have same mass in grams equal to relative formula mass for that substance
, for example: co2 Mr of 44 ( 12 + 2 x 16 ) and one mole of co2 weighs exactly 44 g so all examples all contain the same number of particles , one moles = 6.023 x 10^23
