A contract in which someone is given the right to a specfic piece of land, and the rules of the contract.

The servants couldn’t get there fast enough which led to slavery.

They were welcomed but were not allowed to worship and were kicked out. They then get a charter and head to Virginia to make a pilgrimage on the Mayflower.
Why is the Mayflower Compact important?
It is the first document written in North America and a second step towards self government/representation in the colonies.

What happened in the first Thanksgiving?
Pilgrims arrive late to grow crops, so more than half died of hunger and disease due to the winter. Native Americans ( Squanto ) help the pilgrims.

They began to get persecuted for their beliefs in England.
