Adams strengthens our Navy and uses pirates. He gets into a peace talk with Napoleon Bonaparte, and France stops seizing American ships.
What was the Alien Act?
To become a citizen, you must live in America for 14 years instead of 5. The president can deport any citizen they feel is a threat. This targeted immigrants
What was the Sedition act?
Anyone caught writing or saying bad about governments officials would be jailed or fined. Immigrants tend to support Democratic-Republicans because they live in the South & most immigrants farm.

What was the Virginia and Kentucky Resolution?
States that sates have the right to nullify (get rid of) a federal law. No other states signed on but this set an important precedent that states still have power. DOMINOES OF CIVIL WAR
