manufacturers improve the design of something- generally to make more money!
what is market pull?
designers design things to meet the needs of the consumer- meeting fashions- e.g. cars now have extras like TV’s in the back
What is technology Push?
Manufacturers can use new technology to develop new products or to improve old ones for example- computers are now much smaller than they used to be

-Surveys- carried out on the street or phone to find out views
-testing- consumers are given samples of goods to test and feedback
