they need to be hard
4
Q

if a material can change shape permanently without breaking or cracking
5
Q
Give an example of a brittle material
A
glass
6
Q
what is the opposite of brittle?

what properties would a plastic slide have?
A
- plasticity (moulded into shape)
- tough (absorb the impact of children jumping on it)
- hard (it doesn’t want to scratch or dent in use)
- it needs to be strong so it can withstand the forces of children playing on it
