What is a standard component?
A
a mass produced, low cost component that is commonly used. Manufactures buy them instead of making them themselves. Screws and rivets are good examples.

A
these are standard components that are used for flat packed furniture. They are blocks and brackets that are made from plastic or metal and mean that furniture can be taken apart and put back together easily.

what are rivets and what are they used for?
A
they are metal pegs with a head at one end. They are used for joining metal together.
