Q

What is the recovery process?

A

The body returning to normal
The heart rate is still increased to allow blood to deliver oxygen and nutrients fast enough and kt remove waste products like lactic acid and carbon dioxide.
The breathing rate to bring in more oxygen.
An effective recovery will
- contain light exercise to maintain elevated breathing rate and deliver oxygen and glucose to repay oxygen debt
- allow the lactic acid to disperse safely
- stretching to make sure the muscles are repaired and to prevent soreness
- dietary factors such as nutrients and water lost during exercise
- sweating regulates body temp
