A connection point between two bones where movement can occur
What are the functions if the skeletal system?
Support Movement Protection Blood cell production Shape
What is abduction?
The movement of a bone or limb away from the body

What is flexion?
When the angles between two bones is decreased
What is extension?
When the angle between two bones increases
What is a ball and socket joint?
It’s at joint where adduction and abduction can take place such as at the shoulder(scapula, clavicle, humerus) or the hips(femur and ilium)
What is a hinge joint?
A joint where flexion and extension takes place such as at the elbow(humerus, radius, ulna) it at the knee( femur, patella, tibia)
What are synovial joints?
Freely moveable joints, most joints fall into this category
