Correct equipment and in good shape - personal equipment like mouth guards - general equipment like mats, posts Correct technique to avoid hurting yourself or someone else - rugby tackle Correct clothing - trampolining not too baggy Correct rules - ensure they are followed Safe practice - ensuring equipment is carried in a safe way Code of conduct - how a piece of equipment is to be used like in javelin. Appropriate warm ups and cool downs - to ensure muscles are warm and do not get strained or sprained.

Why warm up?
A
It increases blood flow to your muscles so they can do the work later in training
Stretches the muscles, moves the joints so they are ready for work and less likely to injure yourself
Helps to improve strength and speed of muscle contractions
Concentrates the mind on the training

Why cool down?
A
It removes lactic acid by dispersing it safely around the body, delivers oxygen and glucose needed in muscles it stops muscle fatigue the next day
