What is psoriasis?
Extra skin cells that form skills and red patches
Pallor
Unhealthy pale appearance
Cyanosis
Blueish or purplish discolouration of the skin or mucous membranes
Seborrhea
Mainly affects scalp (dandruff) - causes red, itchy rash and white scales
Xerosis
Abnormally dry skin
Junctional nevus
A mole found in the junction (border)between the epidermis and dermis
Erythema
Intense redness of the skin from excess blood (hyperemia) in the dilated superficial capillaries
Hypoxemia
Abnormally low level of oxygen in the blood. More specifically, it is oxygen deficiency in arterial blood
Emphysema
Lung condition that causes shortness of breath. The air sacs in the lungs (alveoli) are damaged. Over time, the inner walls of the air sacs weaken and rupture creating larger air spaces instead of many small ones
Pleurisy
A condition in which the pleura becomes inflamed. Causes sharp chest pain that worsens during breathing
Rhonchi
Continuous low pitched, rattling lung sounds that often resemble snoring. Obstruction or secretions in larger airways are frequent causes.
(Can be heard in patients with COPD, pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, or cystic fibrosis)
Atelectasis
Collapse or closure of the lung resulting in reduced or absent gas exchange
Urticaria
Hives, it’s an outbreak of swollen, pale red bumps or plaques on the skin that appear suddenly — either as a result of the body‘s reaction to certain allergens, or for unknown reasons
Fissure
A linear crack with abrupt edges, extended into the dermis
Erosion
Scooped out, shallow depression in the skin
