Coprolalia
Compulsive utterance of obscene words such as in Tourette’s disorder
fetishism
Obtains sexual arousal from an inanimate object, for at least 6 months and includes sexual fantasies directed at the object
frotteuristic
becoming sexually aroused by touching and rubbing against a non consenting person
exhibitionistic
sexually aroused by exposing ones genitals to a stranger
voyeuristic
obtaining sexual arousal from watching an unsuspecting person who is naked, disrobing, or engaging in sexual activity
transvestism
Pattern of sexual arousal from cross dressing- usually seen in a heterosexual male
projective identification
Patient unconsciously tries to coerce the therapist to act out a particular behavior
alexithymia
difficulty recognizing and describing one’s emotions
clang association
Clang associations are groupings of words, usually rhyming words, that are based on similar-sounding sounds, even though the words themselves don’t have any logical reason to be grouped together.
introjection
internalizing the qualities of an outside object
alogia
- lack of speech that results from a mental deficiency or dementia
- poverty of speech and thought content
glossolalia
unintelligible jargon that that has meaning to the speaker but not the listener
logorrhea
copious, pressured, coherent uncontrollable excessive talking
laconic
reduction in the quality of spontaneous speech
verbigeration
meaningless and stereotyped repetition of words
