Tarsal tunnel and foot arches Flashcards
What forms the tarsal tunnel?
The medial malleolus, medial calcaneus, medial and posterior tibia, inferior of sustantucum tali, and flexor retinaculum.
What is the origin of flexor retinaculum?
The calcaneus.
What is the attachment of tarsal tunnel?
The medial malleolus.
What is the order of tarsal tunnel structures? (from anterior)
Tibialis posterior, flexor hallucis longus, anterior tibial artery, tibial nerve, flexor digitorum longus.
What are the 2 extensor retinaculum?
The superior and inferior.
What does the superior extensor retinaculum look like?
A straight band connecting the anterior of tibia and fibula.
What is the morphology of the inferor extensor retinaculum?
Y-shaped, originates from upper calcaneus, attaches to medial malleolus and plantar aponeurosis.
What are the fibular retinaculi?
The superior and inferior fibular retinaculum.
What is the origin of the superior fibular retinaculum?
The lateral surface of calcaneus.
What is the attachment of the superior flexor retinaculum?
Lateral malleolus.
What is the origin of the inferior fibular retinaculum?
The lateral surface of calcaenus.
What is the attachment of the inferior fibular retinaculum?
Lateral surface of calcaneus but blends with inferior extensor retinaculum.
What is the organization of tendon on the anterior of the leg from medial to lateral?
Anterior tibial, tendon of extensor hallucis longus, tendon of extensor digitorum longus.
What are the 3 foot arches of the foot?
Medial and lateral longitudinal arch and the transverse ligament.
What ligaments strengthen the foot arch?
The calcaneocuboid (short) ligament, the long ligament, the spring ligament.
