What is the thigh separated by from the abdominal wall anteriorly?
Inguinal ligament.
What is the thigh separated by from the abdominal wall posteriorly?
Superficially, gluteal folds
Deeply, inferior margin of gluteus maximus
Deeper, quadratus femoris
What structures go in and out of the thigh?
Posteriorly, the sciatic nerve.
Anteriorly, the gap formed between the inguinal ligament and the pelvic bone is passed through by the iliopsoas muscle, pectineus muscle, femoral nerve, posterior cutaneous femoral nerve, femoral branch, femoral veins and vessels.
Medially, the obturator nerve and vessels through the obturator canal.
What creates the division of compartments of the thigh?
The intramuscular septum that divides the thigh and connects to the fascia latae.
