List the “high risk criteria” for spinal motion restriction.
A
- Ejection from vehicle
- Motorcycle crash over 20 mph
- Auto vs. pedestrian/bike over 20 mph
- Axial load to head (like diving)
- Fall from 3x patients height

How is the patient determined “reliable and competent” in the case of spinal motion restriction?
A
- Normal LOC (GCS 15)
- No evidence of intoxication
- No distracting injury
- Able to communicate adequately

A
Along the entire length of spine along the spinous processes.
