System Review PTM CH-10 (Ice & Rain Protection) Flashcards
What visual methods are available for ice detection?
Two red ice detection lights on the glare shield and two wing inspection lights. Wing Inspection lights illuminate half way up winglet during the day.
What provides windshield rain removal?
Special windshield coating.
What powers the Windshield Heat?
2 Engine Driven Alternators
When a TRU is selected, what happens to Windshield Heat?
That side becomes inoperative.
The PITOT/STATIC buttons heat what probes?
Primary and Standby pitot tubes and static ports plus AOA vanes.
When must the ANTI-ICE ENGINE/STAB buttons be on?
Between +10 to -35 degrees C in visible moisture (1 mile visibility or less). Must be on 1 minute prior to Idle Descent in icing conditions.
The ANTI-ICE ENGINE/STAB buttons turns on what?
Engine inlet bleed air heat,
Stator vane bleed air heat,
Inboard wing leading edge bleed air heat,
Horizontal stab bleed air heat,
RAT probe Electric heat.
Will the Wing anti-ice work with the ENGINE/STAB heat in the off position?
No.
The ANTI-ICE WING button turns on what?
Outboard wing leading edge bleed air heat (outer 2/3 of the wing)
When should ANTI-ICE WING be turned on?
+5 (Netjets +10) to -35C in visible moisture (1 mile visibility or less).
What part of the wing is NOT heated?
Only the inboard 36 inches of the winglet are heated.
The WING XFLOW does what?
Allows a single engine to heat both wings.
During a main DC failure, what happens to Anti-Ice?
Fails in the ON position except for WING XFLOW which fails closed.
If the pretakeoff Anti-Ice test fails, can it be re-initiated immediately?
No the system must be allowed to cool to ambient temperature.
What is the maximum altitude with ANTI-ICE WING in the ON position?
FL410
What flap setting is required for takeoff with Type II, III, or IV de-ice fluid?
Flaps 1
What is the recommended procedure for conducting the anti-ice systems check in regard to having de-ice fluid applied to the aircraft?
Cessna recommends conducting the anti-ice check before receiving de-ice fluid application.
