Synaptic transmision Flashcards
1
Q
1 - Exlpain synaptic trasmsttion
A
1- Presynaptic action potential; entry of Na+ through voltage gated Na+ channels (VGNaC); depolarisation
2) Opening of voltage gated calcium channels; calcium flows into the synaptic terminal.
3) Calcium binds to vesicle docking proteins. Exocytosis: vesicle fuses with membrane and neurotransmitter secreted.
4) Neurotransmitter binds to postsynaptic receptors; ionotropic and metabotropic
5) Neurotransmitter is removed from the synaptic cleft by uptake and/or degradation by synaptic enzymes. Postsynaptic receptors close.
THEN BACK TO A NORMAL POTENTIAL WAITING FOR THE NEXT ONE.
