What are the meningeal layers ?
- Skull
- Dura Matter (outer periosteal and inner meningeal layer).
- Arachnoid mater
- Subarachnoid space (contains blood vessels and CSF)
- Pia Matter

What are the two divisions of the dura matter?
Outer periosteal layer (attached to skull)
and inner meningeal layer
What meninge is attached to the brain itself and enters all the grooves and fissures of the brian ?
Pia matter
What does the subarachnoid space contain ?
Blood vessels and CSF.
Where does the dura matter get its blood supply from?
Middle meningeal artery
What are the three main three types of haematoma/haemorrhage?
- Extradural/epidural
- Subdural
- Subarachnoid - busting of vessels
If there is a intercranial pressure, where is the first place the brain is going to move to ?
It will begin to herniate through the foramen magnum. This is dangerous because this is where the medulla and pons are, etc..
What is the technical term for intracranial herniation?
