What are SW doing to work towards the SG targets
A
We have agreed to try and bet the deadline by 5 years.
We have set out a road map to achieve net zero. This includes a different of different areas:
- Producing Carbon- aim to reduce and offset
- Investment- make smarter investment in carbon neutral designs to reduce CO2 emissions produced per 1m of investment
- Gas and Fuel Oil- aim to move away
- Travel and Transport- change all fleets to electricity and reduce all over transport by 50%
- Electricity- invest more in PV schemes or commissioning renewable energy schemes on our land to offset any electricity we use.
- Storing Carbon- Scottish Water currently have a large land holding, we don’t currently understand how much carbon we store on it but we are working to understand that and we aim to improve upon it with tree planting schemes.
