Tibialis Anterior
A: Invert foot – dorsiflex ankle
O: lateral condyle of tibia – upper, lateral part of tibia/interosseus membrane
I: medial cuneiform and base of 1st metatarsal
Extensor Digitorum Longus
A: Extend toes 2-5 – dorsiflex ankle – evert foot
O: lateral condyle of tibia – upper, anterior shaft of tibia/interosseus membrane
I: middle and distal phalanges of 2nd -5th toes
Extensor Hallucis Longus
A: Extend 1st toe – dorsiflex ankle – invert foot
O: middle, anterior surface of fibula/interosseus membrane
I: distal phalanx of 1st toe
Tibialis Posterior
A: Invert foot – plantar flex ankle
O: proximal, posterior shafts of tibia/fibula/interosseus membrane
I: all 5 tarsal bones – base of 2nd - 4th metatarsals
Flexor Digitorum Longus
A: Flex toes 2-5 – invert foot
O: middle, posterior surface of tibia
I: distal phalanges of 2nd - 5th toes
Flexor Hallucis Longus
A: Flex 1st toe
O: middle half of fibula
I: distal phalanx of 1st toe
Extensor Digitorum Brevis
A: Extend toes 2-4
O: dorsal surface of calcaneus
I: 2nd - 4th toes via extensor digitorum longus tendons
Flexor Digitorum Brevis
A Flex PIP’s of toes 2-5
O: calcaneus – plantar aponeurosis
I: middle phalanges of 2nd - 5th toes
Abductor Hallucis
A: Abduct 1st toe
O: calcaneus – plantar aponeurosis
I: proximal phalanx of 1st toe – medial sesamoid bone
Abductor Digiti Minimi
A: flex – abduct (both 5th toe)
O: calcaneus – plantar aponeurosis
I: proximal phalanx of 5th toe
Psoas Major
A: flex – laterally rotate (both hip) – flex thigh
O: TPs of lumbar vertebrae
I: lesser trochanter
