- Occurs as soon as practicable
- Suspect compared to at least 7 people
- No hints
- Informed suspect may or may not be included
- Written record signed true and correct by officer
- Pictorial record signed true and correct by officer
- Complies with relevant regulations

A
- Do not have video/photo of suspect and they refuse to take part
- They have a singular appearance
- Significantly changed appearance post offence before FIP
- No officer/prosecution believed identification would be an issue at the trial
- Identification made soon after offence was reported
- Identification made after chance meeting
