Voluntary
- control over their actions and chose to leave e.g. runaways
Involuntary
- missing against their will e.g. kidnapping
Lost
- want to be found e.g. lost at sea, bush
Missing overseas

What is involved in initial investigation of a MP
A
- full details of MP e.g. appearance, mental health, passport, bank accounts, occupation
- 5WH
- ask for possible reasons for disappearance
- what enquiries have already been done
- photograph
