A
It burrows its way through the mucosa.

What does Helicobacter pylori burrowing its way through the mucosa prevent?
A
Mucus secreting cells from secreting mucus - therefore, cannot protect stomach lining.

What happens if the stomach lining is not protected?
A
The lining is exposed to stomach acid and a sore (an ulcer) is formed.
