Where does the stomach primary channel begin?
Begins at the lateral side of the nose at LI20
What is clinically valuable in relation to the Stomach channel?
- The primary channel enters the upper gum
- Ascends the front of the ear and meets with the GB channel
- Stomach primary channel descends through the breast and nipple
What are the functions of the stomach channel?
Controls the rotting and ripening of food, which manifests as disorders of appetite and digestion, distension and pain in the epigastrium due to qi failing to descend or belching, nausea or vomiting due to rebellious qi
What is the YangMing channel abundant in?
Abundant in Qi and Blood, therefore points of the foot YangMing are used clinically to regulate Qi and Blood in the lower limb
What is ST1?
CHENGQI / Container of Tears
Meeting point of the Stomach channel with Yang Motility and Conception vessel
What are the actions of ST1?
Benefits the eyes and stops lacrimation
Eliminates Wind and Clears heat
What are the indications of ST1?
Redness, swelling and pain of the eyes, lacrimation on exposure to wind, dimness of vision, itching of the eyes
Deviation of the mouth and eye, inability to speak, deafness and tinnitus

Meeting point of the Stomach and GB channels with the Yang Linking Vessel
What are the actions of ST8?
Eliminates Wind and alleviates pain

What are the indications of ST8?
Headache, dizziness, vomiting
Dimness of vision, burning eye pain
Dyspnoea with agitation and oppression, hemiplegia

Regulates Qi in the lower jiao

Hypogastric pain, sudden fullness and distension of the abdomen, irregular menstruation, sudden amenorrhoea, abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, qi rushing upwards to attack the heart
