What are the five functions of the Spleen?
- Dominating the transformation and transportation of the liquid and solid products of digestion after they have been rotten and ripened by the Stomach
- Controls blood, dominating the first stage of its formation and holding it in its proper place
- Dominating the muscles and four limbs, providing vigour and bulk
- Opening into the mouth and dominating the sense of taste
- Controlling the raising of Qi to counteract sinking and prolapse

What are the indications of SP1?
o Uterine bleeding, blood in the urine, blood in the stool, vomiting blood, nosebleed.
o Abdominal distension, sudden swelling of four limbs, sudden diarrhoea, vomiting
o Agitation, heat or fullness in chest, sadness, mania depression, excessive dreaming, insomnia, loss of consciousness
o Fever without sweat, cold feet, cold in lower limbs.

o Abdominal pain and distension, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, sudden turmoil
o Agitation, insomnia, heart pain, fever without sweating, cold hands and feet
o Lumbar pain with inability to turn, disorders of big toe, heat in soles of feet.

o Spleen/Stomach deficiency, heavy body, heaviness in four limbs, borborygmus, diarrhoea, constipation, hemorrhoids
o Abdominal pain, chest and Heart pain
o Febrile disease with fullness and inability to lie down
o Pain in knee and thigh, joint pain, lumbar pain, atrophy disorder
