LU1 is the Front Mu point of the Lung channel and the meeting point of the Lung and Spleen channel.
What are the actions of LU1?
- Disseminates and descends Lung Qi and alleviates cough and wheezing
- Transforms phlegm, clears heat and regulates the water passages.
- Descends stomach qi.
What are the indications of LU1?
- Cough
- Chest pain
- Dyspnea
What is a caution for LU1?
Deep perpendicular or oblique insertion carries a substantial risk of causing pneumothorax.
What is LU5? Chize / Cubit Marsh
LU5 is the He-Sea and Water point of the Lung Channel.
What are the actions of LU5?
- Clears heat from the Lung and descends rebellious qi
- Regulates the water passages
- Activates the channel
- Relaxes the sinews and alleviates pain
What are the indications of LU5?
- Cough, haemoptysis, dyspnea, fullness/pain in the chest

LU6 is the Xi Cleft point of the Lung channel.

- Disseminates and descends Lung Qi
- Clears Heat and moistens the Lung
- Clears Heat and stops bleeding
- Moderates acute conditions

Where does the Lung primary channel originate?
Originates in the Middle Jiao, in the region of the stomach.
Where does the Lung channel meet the Large Intestine channel?
A branch separates at LU7 (luo-connecting point) at the styloid process and travels to the radial side of the index finger where it links with the Large Intestine channel L.I.1
