What are the routes of infection re. HIV?
blood
sex
mother - child
what are the treatments for HIV?
antiviral therapy- prevents viral replication CD4 recovers
How is HIV tested for?
blood test- usually positive by 4 weeks
may remain negative for up to 12 weeks
must get verbal consent
