LOLL is when the ship is tilting in an uncontrolled manner and unable to stay in the up right position, LOLL is irregular and caused by free surface or excessive weight at the top of the ship.

The free surface effect is when a fluid moves through a compartment like water on a tray. It effects the ships stability as it irregularly rolls side to side.

Use dwarf bulkheads to segregate the fluid

Move the fluid to the lowest point in the ship to prevent instability

Remove the fluid completely by using eductors or evenly displace it
