How does a reverse osmosis plant work?

Salt water passes through a set of pre filters, a bag filter removes 60 microns and a cartridge filter removes 10 microns, it then goes through a pump to increase the pressure in the system, this is important as pressure is required to push the sea water through the semipermeable membranes. The sea water passes through a series of membranes until is becomes made water (permeate) if unsuccessful a concentration control valve will send the concentrate to the DoB.
