ST-1 CA
ST-1
CA: Ventral to the center of the pupil, just inside the infra-orbital ridge. Retropulse the eye to penetrate this point
**Different location in the horse
Fx: Conjunctivitis, uveitis, liver heat
ST-1 Eq
ST-1
Eq: Lower eye lid, 1/3 of the way from the medical canthus
Fx: Conjunctivitis, uveitis, ocular discharge or swelling, eyelid tremor, facial paralysis
ST-2 Eq
ST-2
Eq: Ventral to the medial canthus at the bifurcation of the angular vein
*Hemoacupuncture
Fx: Itching or pain, colique, eyelid tremor
ST-4 CA
ST-4
CA: At the lateral commissure of the mouth, 0.1 cun caudal to the mucocutaneaous border
Fx: Facial paralysis, dental pain
ST-4 Eq
ST-4
Eq: 0.5 cun caudal to the lateral commissure of the mouth
Fx: Facial paralysis, too much salivation, eyelid tremor
ST-6 CA
ST-6
CA: In the depression in the middle of the masseter muscle, just rostral to the angle of the mandible
Fx: Facial paralysis, dental pain
ST-6 Eq
ST-6
Eq: In the center of the muscle belly (maseter), at the level of the lateral canthus of the eye, located in a depression when the jaw is open
*Center maseter at the level of the dental arcade
Fx: Facial paralysis, tetanus, cheek/jaw pain or sweeling, toothache
ST-7 Eq
ST-7
Eq: In the depression ventral to the TMJ
*Upside down L formed by the TMJ
Fx: Facial paralysis, tetanus, stomach ulcers, TMJ problems
ST-10 Eq
ST-10
Eq: In the depression dorsal to the jugular veine, in the ventral aspect of the brachiocephalic muscle at the caudal edge of the cutaneaus colli muscle
*From the point of shoulder go to LI-15 then move dorsal at 45 degree to get to ST-10 near jugular grove
** ventral to LI-17
Fx: Diangosis point for ipsilateral stiffle, cough, dyspnea
ST-25 CA
ST-25
CA: 2 cun lateral to the center of the umbilicus, in the center of rectus abdominis muscle
Fx: Front-Mu (alam) point for LI, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting
*poop point
ST-25 Eq
ST-25
Eq: 2 cun lateral to the umbilicus, in the belly of the rectus abdominal muscle
*Don’t needle this point, moxa! Great for fecal water syndrome/loose stool
Fx: Alarm point for large intestine, release heat and relieve constipation using acupressure. Contraindication for pregnancy using moxa
ST-34 Eq
ST-34
Eq: 2 cun proximolatral to the patella, in the belly of the vastus lateralis m.
*Grasping stiffle point at 45 degree angle upwards; lateral is ST-34 and medial SP-10
Fx: Xi-celf point, acute epigastric pain, stifle pain and swelling, paralysis of hindlimb, urinary hemorrhage, Wei syndrome
ST-35a CA
ST-35a = lateral eye of the knee
CA: In the depression distal to the patella and lateral to the patellar ligament
*Inject ST-35a and ST-35b so that the needles cross
Fx: Stiffle problems, pelvic limb weakness
ST-35b CA
ST-35b = medial eye of knee
CA: In the depression distal to the patella and medial to the patellar ligament
*ST-35a + ST-35b = Xi-yan
Fx: Stifle problems, pelvic limb weakness
ST-35 Eq
ST-35
Eq: Between the distal border of the patella and the proximal border of the tibia, in the depression between the middle and lateral patellar ligament
Fx: Stiffle pain and arthritis, ligament problems
ST-36 CA
ST-36**
CA: 3 cun distal to ST-35a,
0.5 cun lateral to the cranial crest of the tibia, in the belly of the cranial tibialis muscle. Long linear point
*Go down from ST-35 and move one muscle belly caudal
Fx: He-Sea (earth) point, **Master point for gastrointestinal tract and abdomen, nausea, vomiting, gastric pain, gastric ulcers, food stasis, geereal tonic
**REAR 3 MILES
ST-36 Eq
ST-36**
Eq: 3 cun distal to ST-35, 0.5 cun disto-lateral to the cranial aspect of the tibial tuberosity, over the extensor digitorum longus m.
*The tibial crest is lower than we think
Fx: **Master point for GI tract and abdomen, **3 mile point, He-Sea point (earth), Qi tonic point
Used for nausea, vomiting, stomac pain, gastric ulcer, food stasis, general weakness, constipation and diarrhea
ST-37 CA
ST-37
CA: 3 cun distal to ST-36, 0.5 cun lateral to the cranial aspect of the limb, in the cranial tibialis muscle
*2 cun up from half the distance of tibia
Fx: Lower He-Sea point for LI channel, diarrhea, intestinal ulcers, constipation
ST-37 Eq
ST-37
Eq: 3 cun distal to ST-36, 0.5 cun latral to the cranial aspect of the tibia, over the extensor digitorum longus m.
*Start by finding ST-38 ans move 2 cun proximal
Fx: Lower he-sea point for LI meridian, diarrhea, intestinal ulcer, colititis
ST-38 Eq
ST-38
Eq: 2 cun distal to ST-37, 0.5 cun lateral to the cranial aspect of the tibia, over the extensor digitorum longus m.
**1/2 distance (16 cun) from tibia to hock, just dorsal off of midline
Fx: Colic, paralysis of hindlimb, ligament/tendon problems, shoulder pain
ST-39 CA
ST-39
CA: 3 cun distal to ST-37, 0.5cun lateral to the cranial aspect of the limb, in the cranial tibialis muscle
*1 cun distal to the midpoint of the tibia (ST-38)
Fx: Lower He-sea point for the SI channel. Diarrhea, abdominal pain dysentery, hemiplegia, impaction
