LI-1 Eq
LI-1
Eq: Dorsal-medial aspect of the thoracic hoof, at the origin of the medial collateral ligament of the distal interphalangeal joint, 0.5 cun proximal to coronary band (index finder)
Fx: Jing-well point (metal), nasal discharge, not wanting to be a leader in the race, shoulder pain ou lameness, forelimb lameness, navicular disease, laminitis, side-bone, ring-bone, pharyngitis
LI-2 Eq
LI-2
Eq: On the dorsal-medial side of the thoracic limb, distal to the fetlock joint, in the depression dorsal to the junction of the medial extensor branch of the suspensory ligament and the common digital extensor tendon.
*Dorsal to extensor branch and distal to fetlock
**Similar to LIV-2 hind end
Fx: Ying spring point (water), LI heat, fever, diarrhea, nose bleeding
LI-3 Eq
LI-3
Eq: On the dorsalmedial aspect the the thoracic limb, just distal to the distal end medial splint bone, dorsal to the suspensory ligament
Fx: Shu-stream point (wood), pain in fetlock, tendinitis, dental pain, diarrhea, abdominal fullness
LI-4 CA
LI-4
CA: Between the 2nd and 3rd metacarpal bones, at the midpoint of the 3rd metacarpal bone on the medial side
*At the level of the dew claw; more proximal than we think
Fx: Yuan (source) point, master point for face and mouth, nasal discharge/congestion, facial paralysis, dental pain
***4 gates
LI-4 Eq
LI-4**
Eq: Distal and caudal to the base of the 2nd metacarpal bone, in the depression between the medial splint bone and canon bone
important point
Fx: Master point* for face and mouth, Yuan primary point, facial paralysis, dental problems, nose bleeding, sore throat, anhydrosis, tendinitis, fever, immunodeficiency, 4 gates**
LI-5 Eq
LI-5
Eq: In the depression between the 2nd and 3rd carpal bones on the dorsomedial aspect of the carpus
*Enter needle oblique to not hit joint
**medial aspect of limb, lower row of bones, between the medial bone (2nd) and middle bone (3rd)
Fx: Jing-river point (fire), carpal pain, sore throat, dental pain, deafness
LI-10 CA
LI-10
CA: 2 cun distal to LI-11 (1/6 distance between the elbow and the carpus), between the extensor carpi radialis and the common digital extensor muscle
Fx: Immune regulation, general tonic, skin itching, diarrhea, wind-heat, elbow pain, thoracic limb and pelvic limb weakness
*Front 3 miles pt vs ST-36 for hindlimb
LI-10 Eq
LI-10
Eq: 2 cun distal to LI-11 (and caudal), in the groove between the extensor carpi radialis and the common digital extensor muscles
*LI is the cranial groove and SI groove is just caudal
Fx: **Thoracic 3 mile point. Diarrhea, colic, front limb paralysis, pain in dentals and cheek, general weakness. Substitute for ST-36*
LI-11 CA
LI-11
CA: At the lateral end of the cubital crease, 1/2 the distance between the biceps tendon and the lateral epicondyle of the humerus when the elbow is flexed
*Long linear point
Fx: He-Sea point (earth), mother point for deficiency, *wind-heat, diarrhea, constipation, elbow pain
LI-11 Eq
LI-11
Eq: In the depression cranial to the elbow (lateral aspect), in the groove between the extensor carpi radialis and the common digital extensor, just ventral to the lateral head of the triceps muscle
*in the cubital crease
**between the cranial and lateral muscle belly
Fx: He-Sea point (earth), mother point, sore throat, dental pain, uveitis, fever, hypertension, seizure, abdominal pain, diarrhea, fore limb paralysis, ceacal disorders (with Lan-wei-xue)
LI-15 CA
LI-15
CA: Cranial and distal to the acromion on the cranial margin of the acromion head of the deltoideus muscle
*Start at the scapular spine and move down to the acromion; don’t go more distal.
**LI-15 is in front of the acromion and TH-14 is behind the acromion (LI-15 leads and TH-14 trails)
Fx: Shoulder pain, cervical stiffness
LI-15 Eq
LI-15
Eq: Dorsal to the greater tubercule of the humerus, lateral to the tendon of origine of the biceps brachii, between the subclavis and supraspinatus muscles
*Palpable the point of shoulder, go upwards at a 45 degree angle
**Hard to palpate
Fx: Shoulder lamness
