EFAS can monitor any of the 16 HT Channels, however it can only monitor 1 channel at a
time. A separate EFAS equipped vehicle must be used to monitor each channel in use
(Primary Tactical, Secondary Tactical, Command, etc.)
• All vehicles regularly assigned to Divisions, Battalions, Field Comm, and Marines 1, 6 and 9
are equipped with EFAS.
• EFAS is connected to the EBF-4
• When viewing the EFAS screen, it will not switch back to the STARFIRE screen when units
transmit 10-84
• If an EAB is transmitted on a HT within range of an EFAS equipped vehicle, the MDT
screen will automatically switch from the STARFIRE screen to the EFAS screen.
• EFAS Training Roll Calls mandated quarterly (January, April, July, October)
• EFAS starts automatically when vehicle is started. It takes 1 minute to connect to Starfire. Do
not attempt to select EFAS during this time.

• When a member activates their EAB, their identity line in EFAS will be highlighted. Their
COMPANY, NAME and POSITION will be listed in red in both the “Radio Status” and
“MAYDAYS” areas

TIME OF THE MAYDAY (No name)
• The member’s identity will remain RED until the Emergency Alert is resolved and the HT is
