aldosterone receptor antagonist
potassium sparing diuretic
competitively inhibits mineralocorticoid receptors in DCT to promote Na and water excretion and potassium retention
note that these channels are dependant on aldosterone

A
oedema especially in congestive heart failure
ascites in cirrhosis of the liver
nephrotic syndrome

A
Addison’s disease (too little cortisol production in the adrenal glands)
anuria
hyperkalaemia

Abiaterone (advanced prostate cancer treatment)
Mitotane (Cushing’s and adrenocortical carcinoma treatment)
