Rhizomes
The rhizome is an underground stem having nodes internodes and apical and axillary buds. While the root has a root cap,
Stolons
a creeping horizontal plant stem or runner that takes root at points along its length to form new plants.
Tubers
Tubers are a type of enlarged stem used as storage organs for nutrients in some plants.
Example Potato.
Bulbs
Consists of a relatively large, usually globe-shaped, underground bud with membraneous or fleshy overlapping leaves arising from a short stem.
Example onion
Corms
It bears membranous or scaly leaves and buds, and, unlike in bulbs, these do not appear as visible rings when the corm is cut in half.
Example - Bananas grow from corm and taro
Cladophylls
A photosynthetic branch or portion of a stem that resembles and functions as a leaf, as the pad of a prickly-pear cactus
Thorns
a stiff, sharp-pointed, straight or curved woody projection on the stem or other part of a plant.
