What do lacrimal glands do, what is contained in the secretion and their role?

A

The gland continuously releases dilute salt solution or tears onto eyeball. The secretion contains antibodies and lysozomes that destroy bacteria and the role is to cleanse and protect eye surface as it moistens and lubricates
