Conversion disorder
involve voluntary motor and sensory functioning and that suffes a serious neurological or other medical condition. Initiation of symptoms was preceded by conflicts or other stressors and not physiological mechanisms.
Somatization Disorder
persists for several years and no physical explanation has been found. Must include 4 pain symptoms, 2 gastrointestinal, one sexual and 1 pseudonuerological (double vision, blindness, seizures)
Pain Disorder
Pain that is sufficiently sever to warrant clinical attention and that cannot be fully accounted for be a medical condition.
Hypochondriasis
unrealistic preoccupation with a fear of having, or the belief that one has a serious illness based on misinterpretation of bodily symptoms.
Body Dysmorphic disorder
Preoccupation with a defect in appearance such as spots on the skin or facial hair. The defect is either imagined or very slight.
Factitious diorder
The presence of physical or psychological symptoms taht are intentionally produced or feigned for the purpose of fulfilling an intrapsychic need to adopt a sick role.
Dissociative Amnesia
one or more episodes of an inability to recall important personal information that cannot be attributed to ordinary forgetfulness.
Dissociative Fugue
abrupt unexpected travel away from home or work with an inability to recall some or all of one’s past.
Dissociative identity disorder
existence of two or more distinct identities or personality states that each has its own pattern of perceiving, relating, and thinking about the environment and self. At least two of the personalities take full control of the person’s behavior in seuqence, and there are gaps in recent and past memories for personal informaiton
Depersonalization Disorder
One or more episodes of depersonalization (a feeling of detachment or estrangement from oneself).
