Agoraphobia
Irrational fear of being in unfamiliar places or of leaving one’s home. Environment in which escape might be difficult or embarrassing are avoided.
Panic attack
Sudden onset of intense fear and anxiety.
Panic Disorder with/without agorophobia
2 or more unexpected panic attacks followed by the worry of another panic attack.
Agorophobia without a history of panic disorder
Present without panic attacks
Social phobia
fear of social or performace situations that may be cause embarassment or humiliation as the result of scrutiny or evaluation by others.
OCD
For adults the individual must be aware that the obsessions or compulsions are excessive or irrational
PTSD
Characterized by reexperiencing the trauma and is accompanied by increased arousal and by avoidance of stimuli associate with the trauma.
Acute stress disorder
similiar to PTSD except the symptoms must have onset within four weeks of the trauma and must last for at least two days but no longer the 4 weeks. Person must have at least three or more dissociative symptoms and must exhibitpersistent reexperiencing of the trauma, marked avoidance of the stimuli and cause recollection of the trauma, and symptoms of marked anxiety or increased arousal.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Excessive worry about multiple events or activities. Constant for at least 6 months, and person finds them difficult to control. Must entail at least three: restlessness or feeling keyed up or on edge, being easily fatigued, difficulty concentrating, irritability, muscle tension, sleep disturbances .
