What is the purpose of a RIT?
To provide a system for the rescue of members operating at an emergency scene who may become lost, trapped, injured, disoriented or ill
What is the minimum number of members on a RIT team?
4 members
What shall RIT teams be equipped with?
PPE, SCBA, Radios, Irons, hand-lights, search rope, power saws, stokes, Rit Pak
What is the response to a box alarm?
3 Engines, 1 or 2 trucks (address dependant) 1 Squad Company, 1 Emergency Company and designated Chief Officers
What is the Emergency Company Responsible for at a Box?
EMS operations and rehab
When Operating at a working fire or specialized incident what should occur?
An additional Engine company dispatched to serve as RIT
An emergency company shall be dispatched to what?
All extraordinary incidents

What is to be done during a mayday?
Activate pass over radio, give LUNAR report, reactivate PASS,
use a light to contact RIT, conserve air
make attempt at self-rescue
How should the incident commander respond to a mayday?
Deploy RIT, request an additional alarm, conduct PAR, move rescue to another channel, if needed, deploy Pak Tracker
What does the RIT KIT include?
Stokes basket Rigging basket Class 2 Gemtor 40 ft section webbing Scott RIT pack and mask Spare SCBA bottle Blue tarp Search rope Life saving rope
