Immigrants mostly from Southern and Eastern Europe or Asia that were less likely to speak English and were usually Catholic, Jewish, or of an Asian religion
Nativism
The belief that natively born Americans are superior to foreigners
Corporation
A large business that is owned by its shareholders
Trust
A group of businesses in the same industry that share a common board of directors
Monopoly
A market where there is only one provider
Tenement
Poorly constructed, overcrowded, unsanitary firetraps that many immigrants were forced to live in
