she would be concerned with family life and raising children. An Aztec women would bestow love upon her family, and provide clothing and perform many household duties.
Ideal aztec citizen (courage, self sacrifice, modesty)
Courage-Aztecs were expected to show courage, deal with hardships without complaining, because it made the army strong.
Self-sacrifice-The group was considered more important than the individual. Every Aztec had to be willing to sacrifice possessions, comfort, and even life itself, for the good of society.
Modesty/humble -No one, not even the greatest warrior, was to boast about personal achievements or do anything else to stand out from the crowd.
ideal aztec citizen (clean-living, obedience)
Clean Living- People had to keep themselves healthy and avoid overindulging in food and drink. The Aztec harshly punished what they considered evil behaviour.\
Obedience- Everyone had to obey superiors without question, because this helped preserve the social order.
Aztec laws
- rights were protected by the laws
- everyone had to obey the law
- laws judged more harshly at the nobles
- punishment for disobeying= death
- used evidence to judge if a person was guilty and if proven guilty, you would have a retrial handed over to emperor
slave laws
- if noble beat slave to death, then noble died
- if slave cold run far enough from the market to palace=immediate freedom
- children of slaves were freed
- slaves had rights and could own property
