Soc5 Flashcards
What are the 4 principles of training
Specificity
Progressive overload
Individual needs
Fitt ( frequency, intensity, time, type )
Specificity meaning?
Matching the training requirements of an activity
What is progressive overload?
To gradually increase the amount of overload so that fitness gains occur, but without the potential for injury.
What does norm mean?
A pattern or standard
What is Quantitative ?
information about quantities, which can be measured.
What is Qualitative .
information about qualities, which is difficult to measure.
What is protocal
official procedure; set way to do something.
What is individual needs
When planning your PEP look at your individual needs (not using someone elses training plan)
What is FITT
Frequency (how often)
Intensity (how hard)
Time (how long)
Type (training method)
What does frequency mean?
How often you train, can be adjusted to help you manage progressive overload.
What does RRRO stand for?
Rest
Recovery
Riversability
Overthinking
What is adaptation
Bodys response to training and how your body changes to adapt to harder sessions
What is rest
The period of time allocated to recovery
What is recovery
Repair the damage to the body caused by training
What is overtraining
When you train your body’s ability to recover
