What is the definition of a soft tissue injury?
when trauma or overuse occurs to muscles, tendons or ligaments.
How can a soft tissue injury occur?
From overuse and trauma
What is the definition of a sprain?
A damaged ligament, most common is a ankle sprain.
How do sprains occur?
Overstreching to far past normal range of movement.
What is the definition of a strain?
A twist or tear in a muscle or tendant. Most common is hamstring
How do strains occur?
Overuse, long term injury, over streching
What is the definition of cartalige?
Firm elastic substance that keeps the bones a line and takes in impact.
How does torn cartalige occur.
Wear and tear from overuse.
What is the definition of a fracture?
A break in a bone
How does a fracture occure?
When to much pressure is applied to a bone.
What is the definition of a dislocation?
When a bone comes out of a joint.
How does a dislocation occur?
Been bashed or twisted.
What is the definition of an abrasion?
Friction on the skin, a graze
How does an abrasion occur?
Tackle or fallinh on concrete or 4G
What is the definition of concusion?
When you get hit on the head eg: headaches, dizzyness, loss of co-ordination, short term memory loss.
How does concussion occur?
Impact to head.

Rest
Ice
Ccompression

What does rest stand for?
time you stop playing
What does Ice stand for?
Cold can provide pain relife and limit swelling
What does compress stand for?
Use pressure to apply ice to injury
What does elevate stand for?
Elevate injury above heart
