17
Q

What is mechanical advantage?

A

A large load can be lifted with a relatively
small amount of effort.

18
Q

How does mechanical advantage work?

A

This happens when the output of the lever is greater
than the input - the load is greater than the effort, so
you are getting more out than you are putting in.

19
Q

What levers work at mechanical advantage?

A

First and second

20
Q

What is mechanical disadvantage?

A

cannot lift as heavy a load
with the same amount of effort, due to the position of
the effort and load from the fulcrum.

21
Q

How does mechanical disadvantage work?

A

This happens when the effort and the load are both the
same side of the fulcrum but the effort sits closer to the
fulcrum than the load does

22
Q

What lever works at mechanical disadvantag?

A

Third class
