Define soft tissue injury
Particulary prone injury due to movement outside of the normal range.
How can soft tissue injury occur
A tear or overstreched tendon, ligaments muscles and cartilage
Define sprain
A sprain is a damaged ligament
How does a sprain occur
They occur when stretching too far past the normal range of a joint.
Define strain
A twist, tear or overstretched muscle or tendon
How can strains occur
Twisting, tearing, overstretching a muscle or tendon
Define torn cartilage
A firm elastic substance which lines adjoining bones.
How does torn cartilage occur
Wear and tear from long-term overuse.

A fracture is a broken or cracked bone
How do fractures occur
Collision or weight going one way then the other
Define dislocation
When a bone at a joint is forced out it’s normal position.
How does dislocation occur
Result of a hard blow.
Define abrasion
Caused by friction of the skin against a rough surface.
How do abrasions occur
Occurs from a tackle or just falling over during a game of football, rugby or hockey
