A

What are external injuries?

A

Injuries not caused by the individual - foul play, impact with equipment, playing surface or opponents, inappropriate clothing, faulty equipment, very hot and cold weather

What are soft tissue injuries?

A

Injuries at the joints. Joints are where two or more bones meet. Very prone injuries because movement outside of their normal range can tear or overstretch tendons, ligaments, muscles and cartilage

What are sprains?

A

Sprains happen at ligaments. Sprains are serious injuries because ligaments can only be repaired through surgery. One of the most common sprains in sport is a twosted or overstretched ankle. Sprains often occur when stretching too far or past the normal range of a joint
